10 cm recent storm snow overlies surface hoar and sun crust on steep south. Wind effect ridge top and alpine. Previous storm snow well settled and supportive. Total 70-80 cm settled storm snow overlies the December 5 rain crust. Early season snowpack is well consolidated and supportive. Average 160 cm, up to 180 cm in lee terrain.
